STARGLOW POWDERS

Manufactured from finest rare-earth, the new Starglow range of next-generation glow powders are commercial-strength photo-luminescent pigments, that are white (or off-white) in daylight, but (depending on the colour) will glow brilliantly in the dark for up to 14 hours, up to 24 hour in some cases.

Each colour in the Starglow range is heat and water resistant which makes it extremely versatile and suitable for use in hundreds of water or spirit based safety and craft applications (see examples).

Starglow Powders may be used in a wide range of materials like:

  • Adhesives

  • Fibres

  • Inks

Which particle size should I use?

10 - 40 um
300 - 400 mesh
This finer particle size is suitable for brush painting, spray painting and silk screen printing.
50 - 85 um
200 mesh
A large particle size with a higher intensity. Suitable for brush painting, dipping, glass and plastic moulding.   The best all-round size with high performance.

Basic guidelines for using Starglow Powders.

  • More powder / mix ration will produce brighter, longer glow.

  • Use a white, or a light colour as the background for the best results. Any colour other than white may diminish the glow.

  • Use the clearest medium possible. Any pigment in the medium will decrease the brightness and duration of the glow.

  • Generally speaking, The thicker the layer of Glow Powder, the longer and brighter the afterglow.

  • Do not use mediums with a high acidity.

  • Do not grind the Glow Powder, it will destroy the crystal structure and therefore decrease luminosity.

  • The larger the particle size of the Glow Powder the greater the glow.

  • Ratio of Glow Powder to medium is from 10% to 50% by weight depending on application and manufacture process.

These are just guidelines and the user should use their best judgement in working with the pigments.
